摘要
Complex high-energy-type fracture mesomechanism of periodic splitting-rupture (MPSR) is described that results in stable growth of fatigue cracks. The mechanism involves brittle primary fracture and ductile secondary fracture: the first determines spacing of fatigue striations and the second is responsible for its morphological peculiarities. The mathematical model of the primary fracture has been pur forward that makes it possible to predict a crack speed. Some results of the experimental validation of the MPSR model are briefly presented.
