摘要
Generally the conventional bearingless switched reluctance motors (BSRMs) need to work with magnetic bearings to realize the active control of five-Degrees Of Freedom (5-DOF) of the rotating part. However, this kind of structure increases the total cost and reduces overall efficiency of the 5-DOF suspension system. Moreover, the axial length of the rotor is greatly increased which limits the rotor critical speed. In order to overcome shortcomings mentioned above, the conical bearingless switched reluctance motor (CBSRM) is proposed in this paper to control the radial and axial positions of the rotor simultaneously. This paper analyses the new structure and operation principle of CBSRM, and the Finite-Element (FE) simulation results are presented to verify the principle analysis. Finally, the electromagnetic characteristics are also illustrated to facilitate the control of CBSRM in future work.
