摘要
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is one of the mandatory courses at the Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Indonesia as it is recommended by ACM. Competences that students need to acquire in the HCI course cover both knowledge about HCI concepts and skills to create an application by following interaction design principles or redesigning alternative interaction designs of an application. The course implements a collaborative and project-based learning approach where students are asked to complete a project in team during a semester study. The aim of the study is to investigate the students' strategies when working on their HCI projects. Based on their overall final scores, two categories of groups are observed: high-performing groups and low-performing groups. The results show that group performance in the collaborative learning gives significant effect to students' project. Effective collaboration between each member of the high-performing groups in the HCI projects resulted in more detailed prototypes and higher scores than the low-performing groups. It is also implied by the high-performing groups that they had strategies during the project.
