摘要
Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a highly contagious morbillivirus disease affecting sheep and goats. Recently, a homologous PPR vaccine has been developed by attenuation of PPR virus in Vero cells at the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as part of the National Project for Rinderpest Education (NPRE). Adaptation of a vaccine virus to BHK 21 cell line will simplify the large-scale production of antigen due to its rapid growth, and easy maintenancy. It favours the way to adapt the virus in suspension culture. It is with this idea adaptation of PPR virus to BHK 21 cell line culture has been attempted.
