摘要
The present work aims to investigate a honeycomb module with PCM for electronic passive cooling. The system is a honeycomb squared solid matrix filled with Phase Change Material. The PCM is paraffin wax and the honeycomb material is aluminum. Transient regime numerical simulations are created with different configurations, for different pores per unit of length (PPU) and different thermal power. A numerical model with honeycomb structure is compared with a porous medium model. The behavior of the porous medium is modeled with the Darcy-Forchheimer assumption and local Thermal Non-Equilibrium (LTNE) hypothesis is employed to simulate the heat transfer between the fluid zone and the solid zone. The results are presented in term of melting time, melt fraction evolution, temperature fields and stored energy for the charging phase.
