摘要
We analyze the connection between the distribution of public spending across sectors and economic growth. In our general equilibrium growth model of overlapping generations, the distribution of public resources among sectors affects aggregate efficiency, but its evolution along the development process generates conflicts of interests across sectors. We can identify, conditions under which there is a political blockage of growth-enhancing reforms. Regionalism may be a solution to these distortions.
