摘要
This literature presents a new fractal dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for Ultra-wideband (UWB) application. The antenna is realized by placing a Minkowski fractal dielectric resonator over a planar rectangular-shaped monopole. Coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed structure with modification is used for excitation. The CPW can integrate easily and provide better impedance matching. By etching a fractal parasitic strip at the backplane of the antenna the bandwidth is enhanced at a lower frequency range. The modal analysis has been done to illustrate how the antenna accomplishes the UWB characteristics. The dimension of the antenna is (15x38.5x5.073mm(3)) and radiates from 3.14 to 10.896 GHz with a percentage bandwidth of 110.5%. The projected antenna has a good quality omnidirectional radiation pattern, constant gain, high-radiation effectiveness, and low cross-polarization inside the working frequency range and the simulated results exhibit that the proposed antenna is an excellent contender for UWB applications.
