摘要：

1. Various forms of pollution are threatening marine habitats and species. 2. Evidence of the impacts of different pollutants can be seen With the demise of a wide range of species from the monk seal and dolphins to increases in the frequency of algal blooms. 3. Various algae have been used to monitor specific pollutants and the widespread use of Acetabularia spp. as indicator species is proposed. Copyright (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
