摘要
We propose and demonstrate, for the first time, an externally modulated NTSC AM-VSB erbium-doped fiber amplifier repeated system in the 1550-nm region, which uses a chirped fiber grating as well as a large effective area fiber as the dispersion compensation devices. In comparison with the conventional externally modulated fiber optical CATV system, excellent performances of carrier-to-noise ratio greater than or equal to 50 dB, composite second order greater than or equal to 78 dB, and composite triple beat greater than or equal to 68 dB were obtained for the full channel band after a 100-km fiber span transmission.
