EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SOIL NAILING IN EXPANSIVE SOILS CONSIDERING RAINFALL EFFECT

摘要
A laboratory model is designed to study mechanical behaviour of soil nailing in expansive soils considering rainfall effect. With the increase of water content, soil nails present pronounced bending effect, the maximum value of longitudinal strain of soil nails is roughly positioned in the middle with saddle-shaped form, moreover, critical uplifting depth due to swelling of expansive soils induced by seepage is analyzed. Horizontal displacement along facing height manefists parabolic form, which is large in the middle, small at both ends. It is found that swelling force of expansive soils have great impact on the earth pressure of facing and axial force of soil nails.
