Effect of rolling on textures of primary and secondary α2 produced by thermomechanical processing of the intermetallic alloy Ti-24Al-11Nb

摘要
Ti3Al base alloy Ti-24Al-11Nb is considered to be an important alloy for aerospace applications. Since many applications of this alloy require the material to be in sheet form, the texture characterization is important as far as product design is concerned. The texture evolution in the alloy is investigated during thermomechanical processing. Its stability during subsequent thermal treatments is analyzed. The effect of further rolling deformation on the textures of primary and secondary α2 are studied as produced by thermomechanical processing.
