Study of Magnetic Properties of Pr0.4Ca0.6Mn0.98Cr0.02O3 Manganite

摘要
Polycrystalline bulk samples of Pr(0.4)Ca(0.6)Mr(1-x)Cr(x)O(3) (x = 0, 0.02) have been prepared by well known sol gel technique. Magnetic study showed that Pr0.4Ca0.6MnO3 undergoes a transition from paramagnetic to CO state at T-CO similar to 268 K, followed by an AFM ordering at T-N similar to 160 K. With small Cr3+ (x = 0.02) substitution at Mn site, the resulting compound Pr0.4Ca0.6Mn0.98Cr0.02O3 showed a large suppression of CO and emergence of ferromagnetic clusters. This have been established from the detailed magnetization study of the parent as well as doped compound, as a function of temperature, magnetic field and time of Pr0.4Ca0.6MnO3 and Pr0.4Ca0.6Mn0.98Cr0.02O3.
