摘要
In this study, an electrical resistance box apparatus of high-sensitive alternate current bridge was developed for the purpose of measuring the electrical resistivity of soils. A pseudo- electric resistance model of saturated/unsaturated soils was present. The investigation demonstrate that the electrical resistivity of expansive soils is a function of the electrical resistivity of soil skeleton and pore water, water content, degree of saturation and void ratio. We used the ratio of water volume (which is defined as the ratio of the volume of water in sample to the total volume of sample) in the soil as the controlling parameter. The ratio uses a single variable to describe the electrical resistivity of expansive soils because the ratio of water volume can be coupled by water content, degree of saturation and void ratio of the soil.
