Industrial flow measurement by ultrasonics

This paper presents an overview of the use of ultrasonics in flow measurement, particularly its use for process applications. It is shown that, of the techniques available, the transit time technology provides the highest performance in terms of accuracy, and finds the widest area of application. The paper reviews the present state-of-the-art for transit time flowmeters and identifies trends in technology which will improve the current performance of industrial flowmeters.
