In this paper a new approach to intra-site spatial analysis of potter distribution is presented. Emphasis is given to the analysis if dispersion of single pots, which, together with the overall sherd distribution, provides useful information about human use of space and about depositional and post-depositional process. The analytical procedures use mathematical formulae which can be applied to excavations on which finds are collected by grid squares, nevertheless, with minor modification, they can also be applied to sites on which finds are recorded by precise measurements. The analysis of pot dispersion and of sherd distribtuion is applied to the case-study of site no.3 on the Italian Neolithic settlement of Fimon, Molino Casarotto. Some results are briefly presented.
