Simulation of fluid mixing in acceleration driven instabilities

摘要
We will present our numerical study of two fluid interface instabilities, the gravity-driven Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability and the shock-driven Richtmyer-Meshkov (RT) instability, using the front tracking method. We will compare the numerical solutions with tracked and untracked algorithms and explain the quantitative difference of the acceleration rate in the RT instability. We will also compare the difference of the numerical solutions with conservative and non-conservative tracking algorithms in the RM instability.
