Jet modification and a comparative study of hadron υ2 measurements in √SNN=200 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC-PHENIX

In this analysis we measure the azimuthal angle (phi) dependence of hadrons with respect to the reaction plane (Psi(RP)) in events that were triggered by a high-p(T) pi(0) of 5-10 GeV. Fitting the distribution of hadrons with a function of the type xi(1 + 2 upsilon(2) cos (2(phi - Psi(RP)))), we observe that there is no significant statistical difference between upsilon(2) inclusive hadrons and those hadrons from hard scattering events. We also compare the near-side jet widths using PYTHIA simulations with h(+/-)-h(+/-) correlations in Au+Au at root(NN)-N-S = 200 GeV.
