摘要
This paper presents a hybrid time synchronization scheme for wireless sensor networks. The main objective is to enhance the sensor node battery power without obstructing network connectivity. The projected scheme is a fused procedure, consequential resultant of Reference Broadcast Synchronization method (RBS) and Time-sync Protocol for Sensor Networks (TSPN) to sporadically coordinate the sensor clocks by reducing the no. of transmission required earlier. Ad-hoc networks with an exhausted sensor can drop information received from various sensors and hence reduce the network size monitored by the system. Therefore, it is required for the time synchronization schemes to know the number of active sensors at any point of time. Hence, the proposed work focuses on the issues such as connectivity, no. of packets exchange during synchronization process and sensor's energy consumption. The proposed work is simulated on MATLAB and it was observed that it provides better results over TPSN and RBS. Proposed hybrid scheme provides large area of coverage along with the low power consumption by reducing the no. of synchronization packet exchange.
