Effects of FDI inflows upon employment in China: An empirical study

The authors present an empirical analysis for the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows on Chinese Employment in aspects of quantity, quality and location. The finding shows that FDI inflows have directly or indirectly created new employment, and promoted the enhancement of relevant labor's quality. The human resources system in foreign-funded organizations impacts the traditional employment system, which was dominated by planning and administration and in practice for tens of years, with changes in views of employment. Meanwhile, FDI inflows exert an essential influence on the unbalanced distribution of regional employment growth in China.
