摘要
This chapter first examines holy dynamic microsimulation models differ from static microsimulation models. Three key features of dynamic models identified as being particularly important are their ability to generate longitudinal histories, family linkages and holistic analysis. For many important current policy issues - particularly the social and economic impacts of population ageing - these features are critical and are already generating renewed interest in dynamic microsimulation models across the world. The chapter examines why dynamic models remain difficult to construct and looks at possible future directions, including improved spatial analysis capacities and the Expansion to health issues.
