Bibliographic databases on CD-ROM in the field of sports science.

Sports science being a merge of many sciences, several classical sciences are also interested in finding relevant information on motion, games, sports. The German databases SPOLIT and SPOWIS are two of four bibliographic databases that exist worldwide in the field of sports science. The following article wants to introduce these information sources to users outside the field of sports science. Libraries, information and documentation centers specialized in sports science heavily rely on these databases. The results of a survey in these institutions and of a group of users confirm the importance of the database for research in the field.
