Following a suggestion of Hawking it is shown that wormholes can be realized in terms of some quantum fields rather than some parameters and Coleman's "big-fix" can also be understood in this case. These quantum fields should obey the Wheeler-de Witt equation in case they depend upon the induced metric of the wormholes. This opens a new area of studying wormhole physics as a field theory.
