摘要
In order to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) power generation, this work proposes a maximum power point tracking(MPPT) algorithm based on an improved golden section search method. The main process of this method lies in constantly narrowing the search area by golden section search and adding a checking algorithm into MPPT while the maximum power point is about to reach. By comparing the perturbation and observation methods with the modified golden section search MPPT algorithm through Matlab/Simulink, it shows this method has strong robustness and fast response speed under the sudden change of irradiation condition. Also, it is different from the conventional golden section search MPPT algorithm, this algorithm is helpful to reduce the steady-state oscillation of the system and eliminate the possibility of losing track.
