The problem of the institution in contemporary French philosophy: Gilles Deleuze

This article exposes the theoretical shift that affects the concept of institution in Deleuze's philosophy. This concept, a positive reference in his vitalism during the 1950s, has acquired an inverse valuation since the late 1960s. The institution, conceived under the normativity scheme, begins to be thought of under the capture scheme from the date indicated. We take this analysis as a privileged case study for the examination of criticism and refusal of institutions in contemporary philosophy. We measure its implications and evaluate the possibility of rethinking the institution from the concept of resistance.
