Measurement of natural radioactivity from soil samples of Sind, Pakistan

摘要
Natural radioactivity has been measured from the soil samples collected from the Sind province of Pakistan. The measured activities of Ra-226, Th-232 and K-40 were found in the range of 18-47, 24-69 and 254-769 Bq kg(-1), respectively. The calculated values of the absorbed dose rate in air and the annual effective dose were in the range of 33-87 nGy h(-1) and 0.16-0.43 mSv, respectively. The measured results of activity were found compatible with the worldwide findings.
