Comparison of the parabolic approximation with residue calculus in ocean acoustics

摘要
The usual implementation of the numerical technique for approximating far field acoustic pressure in the ocean known as parabolic approximation will be unstable for some poroelastic sediments. This instability can be remedied if a certain conjecture is true. Moreover the resulting solutions are in good agreement with analytical solutions obtained by an application of the residue calculus.
