摘要
The current study examined health care professionals (physicians, nurses, and psychosocial counselors) from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Israel, focusing on their attitudes (avoidance, empathy) toward people living with HIV/AIDS and burnout. The study provides evidence that social norms and environment play an important role in the attitudes reported by the health care providers. Moreover, from a practicable point of view, the results of this study may contribute to some reappraisal of policies in AIDS/HIV centers. That is to say, there is need for strategies to reduce stigma and increase disease knowledge among professionals working with HIV/AIDS.
