摘要
Nowadays computer simulations are well established in many areas of vehicle development. This does not fully apply to the simulation of flow processes in tank systems, as significant progress, required for the integration in product development processes, was only achieved recently. Simulation of the complex multi-phase flows by means of a full 3D state-of-the-art Euler-Euler description proved to be the most suitable approach. By employing this approach, problems of premature switch-off, back splashing, design of the ventilation systems, and sloshing can be solved. Two cases with problem-free tank filling are compared with a case of premature switch-off to show examples of the method's capabilities.
