Using and conceiving public space influenced by urban transformation

The staging of urban life is mainly through urban public spaces. At the beginning of the 'sixties, the issues related to public spaces became a "space for thought" embracing questions of a social, spatial and politico-administrative nature. These questions concern the urban context in general. For this reason the ensemble of issues should be studied in relation to the way a city works, its present-day role, and the deep-seated changes (industrialisation, growth of the third sector, urban spread) which affect the city. Three contemporary phenomena relative to the dimensions of the study have been revealed. The analyses of these phenomena win lead to a more precise definition of social, spatial and political-administrative urbanity.
