TRAUMA IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE IN O MEU AMIGO PAINTER (1987), BY LYGIA BOJUNGA NUNES

This work will review the concept of mimesis from Antiquity to Modernity; first, by attempting to search for a general concept for the word, and later, by observing some of the changes it had gone through the years. After that, the definition of trauma and some issues regarding the traumatized person will be dealt with in order to relate mimesis and trauma. Trauma narrative in chidren's and youth's literature will be discussed to point out the relevance of bringing such topic to the young public. The text O meu amigo pintor (1987), by Lygia Bojunga, will help to develop the discussion we have in mind.
