Some main arguments of I. Zuber and B. Ekehammar (This Journal 38, 1997 and 40, 1999) in their criticism of DMT and implicitly of kindred perceptgenetic methods - may be summarized under five headings: 1. Abbreviated or/and modified versions are valid for testing assumptions and findings of the standard DMT. 2. The notion of defence in DMT is spurious and may be substituted by that of thresholds. 3. The different variants of one class of defence (if there exists any) should intercorrelate consistently. 4. The target of defence in DMT should be the threatening person. 5. More "mature" defences should appear late in the DMT series.
