摘要
Tooth contour is essential for orthodontic evaluation. In this study, a method for tooth segmentation from dental panoramic radiographsis proposed to assist orthodontists toobtain reliabletherapy planning. The proposed method-locates the position of the target tooth, optimizes the scale, translation, and rotation of a tooth model, and deforms the model based on an energy minimization way. Visual inspection, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis were used to evaluate the results. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method is similarto manual delineationby experts.
