Peculiarities of autowave solutions to the problem of critical thermal heterogeneous-catalytic phenomena on a smooth non-porous catalyst surface

摘要
It is shown that in problems of critical phenomena relevant to thermal heterogeneous-catalytic reactions taking place on a smooth non-porous catalyst surface with a macroscopically inhomogeneous activity there can arise, along with effects associated with processes controlled by kinetics and external diffusion, intermediate quasi-homogeneous (pseudodiffusion) states and multiple autowave transition trajectories, as well as some other homogeneous regimes originating from the initial steady state. A conclusion is drawn that the phenomenon considered can be observed when chemical processes occur on a metal catalysts made of alloys or on thin layers of an active phase deposited on a smooth metal support surface.
