摘要
A new type of Yb:KY(WO4)(2) single crystal for laser is prepared by using a top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method from K2W2O7. The Yb:KYW polycrystal powder sample is generated by sintering at 900 degrees C for 24 h and the K2W2O7 flux is formed by sintering at 600 degrees C for 18-20 h. Based on the habit of crystal growth, the crystal with b orientation is selected as the seed. It is found that there are two obvious absorption peaks at 1045 degrees C and 1010 degrees C, a melting point at 1045 degrees C and a phase transition peak from tetragonal to monoclinic at 1010 degrees C according to TG-DTA. The crystal grew is the Yb:KYW crystal of low temperature phase with monoclinic system according to X-ray diffraction spectrum.
