摘要
A method is presented to correlate spatially trace elements with morphological features of atherosclerotic plaques by combining microprobe techniques and histological staining. Patterns from scanning transmission ion microscopy and morphology obtained from optical microscopy could be brought in fair to good agreement. It was possible to obtain element concentrations belonging to specific morphological features as indicated by optical microscopy. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
