Cold neutron flux calculation in liquid hydrogen using Monte Carlo method

摘要
In continution of scattering cross section calculation of liquid hydrogen for neutrons with energy below 1eV at temperature 20.4K, we calculated cold neutron flux in a spherical container located in the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) thermal column, using Monte Carlo method. Since the double differential scattering cross section is a function of energy delta function, the final neutron energy for an incident neutron of a fixed energy (below 1eV)at a fixed angle varies between 1eV and a minimal value. The scattering distribution function, p(mu) was assumed to be continuous between 0 and 1. A group cross section library was constructed to cover neutron energy up to 1eV using WIMS library and our calculated cross section file for molecular hydrogen.
