PROFILE AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV

The objective was to describe the clinical and sociodemographic profile and to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) and associated factors in women living with HIV. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach, developed with women treated at an STI/Aids Specialized Care Service. Clinical and sociodemographic data were obtained from the medical records of the service, and data related to QoL through the HIV/AIDS - Targeted Quality of Life instrument. 37 women with an average age of 39.3 years participated. Most had completed elementary school (73%), had no employment relationship (62%), were married or in a stable union (60%); had a diagnosis of infection within 5 years or more (73%), was on regular ART (78%), had TCD4 + lymphocytes greater than or equal to 350 cells/mm(3) (76%), and undetectable viral load or less at 40 copies/ml (68%) in the last test performed, it was sexually heterosexual (65%), non-smoker (73%), had no diagnosis of depression (78%) and had comorbidities (70%). The domains "Concern with Medication" and "Confidence in the Professional" presented better scores in the QoL analysis, while the domain "Concern with Confidentiality" had the lowest score. Participants with shorter HIV diagnosis time had lower QoL in the "Concern About Confidentiality" domain. Those who had sexually transmitted infection and were smokers had lower QoL scores in the "Satisfaction with Life" domain, while the women living with HIV (WLHIV) who had occupation had better scores in the "HIV Awareness" domain.
