A few notes to business financial health prediction

Prediction models of business financial health constructed based on financial-economic ratios using different classification methods have been a standard part of ex-ante financial-economic analysis since 1960s. In our article we focus on the applicability of these methods in the present rapidly changing economic setting, i.e. in conditions when their practical use is questionable. Models are discussed from different points of views. In the context of the practical use of these models in business environment we give attention to the determination of the ideal database in the Slovak Republic setting, the identification of appropriate statistical methods and possibilities of the improvement of prediction quality of the models and their stability in time.
