摘要
Concrete Paver blocks are ideal materials for footpaths, parking areas for easy placing, aesthetic look and finish. It was found that rapid failure occurred on pavers and blocks became unusable within few years of its utility. The application of paver blocks has extended to the traffic areas and due to movement of vehicles, the formation of cracks on the paver blocks. An attempt is made by partially replacing cement with Rice Straw Ash (RSA) in paver blocks. Rice Straw ash is one of the agriculture waste materials that create most of the environmental conflicts. These conflicts are on the rise over the world, posing a serious threat to human health. The aim of this research is utilization of RSA as cement replacement material in concrete for making paver blocks. RSA increases the compressive strength, flexural strength, decrease water permeability and workability of the concrete. Partial replacement of cement in different percentage as like 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% has been done. The strength properties have been determined at the end of 7 and 28 days of curing. The durability properties such as sulphate resistance, acid resistance, salt resistance tests have been conducted at 90 days immersion in the solutions. Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
