Fractal Geometry Based Resource Allocation for 5G Heterogeneous Networks

摘要
In future dense heterogeneous networks (HetNet) with massive data transmission from multiple devices, load balancing problem becomes more important due to higher variability of small cells load. Small cell load variability is higher because of shorter cell radius that results in more frequent handovers in the HetNets. Therefore, new approaches are needed to solve the problem of effective resources allocation and load balancing in HetNet. In this paper, we propose a new resource allocation method for multi-tier HetNet based on the fractal geometry. Proposed approach is scalable to various network topologies regardless of cells size due to fractal geometry pattern. In order to assess interference and capacity in HetNet we develop fractal based frequency reuse.
