H. M. Elsanadedy, H. Abbas, Y. A. Al-Salloum, and T. H. Almusallam present their opinions on prediction of intermediate crack debonding strain of externally bonded FRP laminates in RC beams and one-way slabs. The writers state that the ultimate load of the strengthened specimens should not be used as a basis of comparison between different models, as it depends not only on the FRP parameters and the internal steel parameters. The load or flexural moment capacity enhancement due to FRP strengthening should be used in model assessment. The writers also agree with the authors that the non-conservative data should be used only for the evaluation of the design model.
