摘要：
We consider maximum likelihood trellis decoding of multilevel coded modulation optimsed for finite BER. We introduce a class of optimised BCM schemes for 8PSK with a very simple trellis decoder, and show they perform significantly better than conventionally-designed BCM schemes.
