摘要：
The concept of the validity of Voltage Stability Margin Index(VSMI) and its definition are presented. For simple system, a comprehensive analysis for the validity of VSMI is given. For complex systems, the validity of VSMI is illustrated by examples. The linearity of VSMI is evaluated.
