A study on a Duffing-harmonic oscillator was discussed. An approximate frequency-amplitude relation for the equation of motion was analyzed which gave the results close to the exact solution. A periodic solution without numerical integration was also used by applying a rational harmonic balance approximation. It was observed that the restoring force in the equation was the same for both negative and positive amplitudes.
