摘要：
The goal of the paper is evaluation of the development potential of regions in the Czech Republic. The evaluation of regional development is based on assessment of regional disparities using the index of development potential. By using of this index there are analyzed natural and social conditions in the regions of the Czech Republic. Using the index of development potential it is also determined the order of the regions in terms of quality of life. To build the index of development potential there is utilized methods of multivariate analysis - factor analysis, which allows identifying variables, which have the strongest influence on overall state.
