Forecast of water environment after the implementation of water-saving projects

摘要
Inner Mongolia Hetao plain is the biggest irrigation districts in Northwest China. Because of water shortage in recent years, particularly in Northwest China, so water-saving projects will be carried out in Hetao irrigation area. This paper aims at reconstruction of water-saving projects of Hetao irrigation area in the Yellow River watershed. Through case study on the Hetao's Long Sheng irrigation experimental zone, the groundwater level movement after water-saving projects reconstruction is predicted with Galerkin limited elements method. And the predicted results were compared with near Shahaoqu irrigation area. Then the results were proved reasonable. So, this results can provide reference for the water environmental evaluation and management decision of Hetao irrigation area.
