Residential Energy Management System with Photovoltaic Generation using Simulated Annealing

摘要
This paper proposes a residential energy management system to schedule shiftable loads considering a photovoltaic generation connected to power grid. The objective is to maximize the use of renewable energy resources, maximizing the economic benefit and minimizing the power imported from the main distribution grid. Simulations are performed considering a new time-of-use tariff, called White Tariff, which is being implemented in the Brazilian electricity distribution segment. The proposed energy management system handles only a limited number of shiftable household appliances, respecting their daily time preferences and according to the appliance operation cycle. The optimization method used is the simulated annealing, which is a simple algorithm with good performance in avoiding local optimums. The results show how much savings can be achieved with the proposed residential energy management system at the end of a month, and demonstrate the efficiency of the method.
