Design of unequal H-plane waveguide power dividers for array applications

This article presents design data for unequal H-plane waveguide power dividers. The power divider consists of an H-plane waveguide T-junction with two irises: one to split the power in the desired ratio and one to match the input port. An integral equation moment method analysis procedure for such a structure was developed and used to generate design data over a wide frequency and coupling range. Verification of the analysis procedure was achieved gy comparing results with those obtained using a commercial finite-element analysis code In addition to the dimensions and placement of the irises, the design data presented include information regarding the additional waveguide length that should be added to one of the output ports to obtain phase-matched outputs. A power divider fabricated according to the design data presented yields good performance with good agreement between theory and measurements.
