Considerations for the treatment of the injured athlete

This article discusses the significance that contusions, fractures, or ligament injuries (involving the small bones, joints, and soft tissues of the forearm, wrist, or hand) can have on the athlete. The concern for proper management of upper-extremity injuries is addressed in order to decrease the possibility of long-term functional consequences for the athlete.
