摘要
The public in general and academia is under the impression that psychological problems are more and more explained by neuroscientific and/or biological findings. Is scientific psychology becoming no longer necessary? Is psychology in danger to lose its self-reliance? What are the relationships between biology/neuroscience and psychology? In this essay we discuss problematic line crossings between biology and psychology, whether biological measures are indeed more objective und discuss the appeal of brain imaging figures. Beside the problematic influences of biology/neuroscience on psychology there are also several chances and challenges associated with these influences. Based on these challenges and chances we formulate some suggestions for scientific psychology how to cope with influences from biology and neurosciences.
